Branding... it's all in your customer's mind!

Thanks for stopping in. I thought that my blog title might spark you to ask "what is Debby talking about?" Well let me explain. I have seen lots of logos and store messages over my years in the industry... and also this past year I've been saying promote your personality or "niche."

Today when I was updating my new "bowl of cherries" page on askDebby.com with an article written by my friend TJ Miller, I got excited about how simple the explanation of "branding" really is. It's all in your customer's mind. It's their perception of the experience that is your brand.

TJ helped me change the "symbol" of my brand when I switched to askDebby.com versus using the name of my company Debby Swoboda Marketing Solutions. I wanted to let people know the askDebby.com was an educational resource for independent retailers to visit for tools and to gather tips about marketing and merchandising from someone with experience. The new symbol has been a wonderful tool to drive people to my site and also to remember my name. PLUS TeleTraining attendance is up, free shelf talker downloads are up, and I receive a lot more emails from interested retailers and vendors asking to support my endeavors. Life has definitely changed in a positive way.

I hear from retailers that they want to update their image or ask what can they do to differentiate themselves from the competition. Maybe it's time to look at the message that you are sending to customers and what's sticking in their minds.

If you'd like to read the article that I posted "The Power of Your Brand: Your Edge in the Marketplace" simply click here to get to my Bowl of Cherries page. The article link is on the right hand column. Enjoy.

Until next time, here's wishing you a great day! Debby
